Chapter 36
Athel and Privet's Courtship Dinner

Deutzia chimed sweetly and gave off more of a lavender light as she removed the empty dinner plates from a particularly sumptuous roast and brought out a single glass filled with a white pudding and placed in before Athel. With an eager smile, she stood up and brought the dessert over to Privet. He could feel his heart beating as she approached, knowing what was coming. She would offer him a single spoon-full. If he accepted her, he would eat it and if he did not, he would refuse.

Athel's shoe caught the back of her heel and she tripped, falling to the floor with a fleshy thud.

Privet began snickering, biting his lip to control himself.

"Ahh, I think I broke it," Athel said, standing up. The dessert glass had broken, and her uniform was covered in a white sticky mess.

"CUT!" Someone get her a towel or something," the director called out.

Privet busted up, laughing even harder.

"Ugh, I think it's in my hair," Athel complained.

Privet continued laughing, placing his hands over his mouth to try and muffle the noise.

"Stop laughing!" Athel hollered, pushing him back out of his chair. Privet landed on his back but continued to laugh, tears forming at the corners of his eyes.
