Interview with Captain Tallia
Question: You said once that acting was not in your nature.
Answer: I did? Really?
Question: You did say that, are you denying that you said that? It seems like a strange thing to deny.
Answer: I dunno. I might have said that. That does seem like something I would say. Sometimes my memory can be a littler foggy. Ever since the accident and all.
Question: Accident?
Answer: Yeah. Deutzia fell on top of me when we were filming the climax to book two…or I drank some really bad grog…not sure which, actually.
Question: So, if acting is not in your nature, why do it?
Answer: Well, what I probably meant was that it has always been strange for me to be in the spotlight, to be in front of an audience. It doesn’t come naturally to me.
Question: But you are an actor.
Answer: I suppose.
Question: By choice?
Answer: Not really, it’s just something I started doing to pay the bills.
Question: Do you have a lot of bills?
Answer: Oh yeah, acting school, performance academy, oration instruction, private theater tutors, it all adds up really quick. I basically owe my soul to the Book Actors Guild.
Question: I don’t mean to sound combative, but it sounds to me like you went out of your way to become an actor.
Answer: Does it? I dunno. Might have just been some bad grog.
Question: So, we have a problem?
Answer: I suppose.
Question: And I’m guessing it’s not going to be solved during this interview?
Answer: You don’t know the half of it. I’m not even sure where I am right now. Might have been…
Question: …some bad grog?
Answer: What? No, I have a learning disability, you insensitive jerk.
