Privet Tamarack Interview
Question: What did you like most about the story?
Answer: Really this book is about Privet. He is the main character. This is his story. However, there are large portions of the book where he is not present, which is, I think, a pretty serious flaw in the writing. With so much time in between scenes that included my character, I had a surprising amount of time on my hands, which I put to good use. I've known characters who take up a hobby with each plot point. They learn to sail, or to embroider, or something stupid like that.
Question: What did you do?
Answer: I set a goal to make out with every female member of the book, which, I am happy to say, was accomplished with flying colors before the ending.
Question: Really?
Answer: Absolutely.
Question: So...Mina?
Answer: Yep.
Question: Margaret?
Answer: Mmm, hmm.
Question: Ms. Strelan?
Answer: Absolutely.
Question: Spirea?
Answer: You kidding? First day.
Question: Really, the entire female population in the book?
Answer: The entire population.
Question: Even Deutzia?
Answer: (pause) I-I think this interview is over.
Question: What scene was the most fun to be in?
Answer: Oh, definitely the bar-scene with Tigera. Now, usually what they do when you have a scene where you drink ale, is they just put foamy apple juice or like colored water in there. I taste it and I'm like, there's real ale in here, what the crap? (laughs) Oh my gosh, it was so funny. After about ten minutes I was nearly falling off of my stool. We were up until four in the morning, I was slurring so bad we could not finish the scene. Mr. Yeager was so furious he walked off without even eating a cheese danish.
